My Uncle ..my Dad

Miss him already .. miss telling him stuff and getting his opinion and advise.

No words are adequate .. a fighter until the end, when it was just too tough to fight anymore.

He was always there for me, encouraging me to achieve, to try anything I wanted. Always supportive from taking a book keepers course when I was running my business, to learning a foreign language with me.

To see me in amateur drama productions and encouraging me to sing, but telling me to shut up when I started.

travelled alot with him across the World ..he enjoying being recognised at international airports and made a fuss of, because everyone loved him.

A lasting memory (amongst many) is dog sledding in snowy Canada, he fell off the sledge, leaving Audrey being pulled into the wilderness by 7 husky dogs and thick snow and an icy lake. Audrey shouting Des, Des, Des .. Des running to try and catch the sledge up .. shouting back “I’m running as fast as I can”.

The sledge crashed and stopped fortunately, saving Audrey from the iced lake!

So many things to say, but I’ll end with reminding you to never cut a block of cheese at an angle ..straight cuts only please, or you’ll hear him tell you off! 😂
